do it yourself / beauty tips

my tips to being clean and feeling cute

  • buy a tweezer, a tweezer is a girls best friend. you don't have to shape your eyebrows everyday until their non existent but a quick pluck here and there never hurt.
  • no lip stick , unless your my grandma, going to the golden globes or maybe a date. lip stick was never cute. Its matures your face and takes away anyones fresh look.
  • buy a manicure set , I've seen them for a dollar. have your nasty cuticles and bitten nails was never a good thing. its easy and pain free. atleast til you go to a salon
  • use some bronzer, unless your really dark then you should atleast put some bronzer on. I'm not saying to go all out on your make up bag but just a hint looks better then the winter pale faces I've seen
  • don't shave your arms, unless your big foot or have hairy family traits theres no reason to shave your arms. I've seen plenty of girls do this and when you get near them its gross
  • WAX/BLEACH your stache, if you can't afford payments of consecutively fixing your stache then buy a hair bleach and DO IT YOUR SELF. guys want to know if they're with a man or woman
  • use chapstick, even though i'm guilty of this rule its very true. during these freezing temperatures our lips tend to peel and stay dry. 1.50 is all it takes to cute lips :)
  • shave women, not your arms but everywhere else
  • Pedicure, Pedicure Pedicure! its not hard. cut your cuticles, file your nails and add some color. you never know wehn you have to take your shoes off. :/
with these tips im sure you'll be ready to be refreshed and feel clean. i'll be aure to add any set of beauty tips soon :)

Inauguration 2009

NEW YORK — President-elect Barack Obama continues to be a source of inspiration for designers.

With next week’s presidential inauguration shaping up to be one of the most anticipated national events in recent memory, more than 10 American designers have created official merchandise to support the festivities as part of the “Runway to Change” initiative.

The new collectible pieces include tote bags by Diane von Furstenberg and Tory Burch; T-shirts by Zac Posen, Donna Karan, Juicy Couture, Narciso Rodriguez, Derek Lam, Rachel Roy, Gerald Matthews and House of Deréon, and a scarf by Alexander Wang.

The “Runway to Change” initiative launched during Obama’s campaign featured special merchandise by more than 25 designers to benefit the campaign. “It was a big success, and got a lot of positive feedback from designers and also the general public,” Presidential Inaugural Committee spokesman Brent Colburn told WWD. “Heading into the inauguration, we thought it would be a wonderful thing to incorporate the talent of some of these designers in the inaugural celebration. We reached out to them, and asked them to participate in this collection.”

Proceeds from the sale of the items will support the costs of the inauguration, which are expected to be in the same region as the $45 million 2005 inauguration.

“This is the most exciting political moment of my lifetime,” said Zac Posen.

Tory Burch added, “President-elect Obama is an incredibly inspirational leader. I am excited to see the direction he and his team will take our country in the coming years, and look forward to supporting them in every way I can.”

Among the pieces is a printed DVF natural cotton canvas tote for $70, featuring a heart, the word “Obama” and terms such as integrity, intelligence and passion in the designer’s script. Rachel Roy, meanwhile, created a gray T-shirt emblazoned with the slogan “I [heart] my president” for $45. “When designing the T-shirt for the inauguration I wanted the simple yet concise slogan — ‘I love my president’ — to convey the faith we have in Obama to bring about the change he represents,” she said.

Donna Karan’s Urban Zen T-shirt, meanwhile, is printed with the words “Inspire Change.”

“I was hoping this could be a communication tool that would connect people to inspire change,” Karan said. “It’s everyone’s responsibility to access their resources to call to action.”

The collection is available at the Presidential Inaugural Store at 625 E Street Northwest in Washington through Jan. 21. It will also be available at pic2009.inauguralcollectibles.com through February.

Christian Cota

This spring is full of inviting colors that are not bright but not too simple.
Chrisitan Cota New York designer is displaying some simple looks. These colors range from shades ofyellow, deep blues and off white for the Spring 2009 Season.
Many other looks can be found at ChrisitanCota.com Even thought these looks may not be afforable to all, atleast you can see whats in line this spring.

Kourtney & Kim Kardashian

These 2 ladies are most definatley fashionista. I admit the Kardashian Family might not have the best reputation but they have great styles. They both have amazing bodies and know what to do with them. they can be elegant and simple but young and fresh. Kourtney is smaller then kim but still works her body just as well. Kim has way more to work with and still dresses her self with a thicker body. To me they are fashion idols. I'll pass on the long boots and turtlenecks but nothing else.

Juicy couture

JUCIY COUTURE ISN'T SO COUTURE.
The definition of couture is :high fashion designing and dressmaking
couture:The highest level of sewing and dressmaking techniques. Traditionally, custom-made clothing, largely made by hand.

couture:the term for the clothing that designers create for an exclusive market of individual customers and exclusive boutiques that will be made to each customer's measurements.

couture:A term that has come to mean French fine sewing or needle work. Also, the business of designing, making and selling fashionable custom-made women's clothing.

in my eyes juicy coutures name should be changed to juicy. A cute brand with various colors designs, patterns, textures and fabrics. cotoure is something fashionistas work hard for. they don;t go to your local juicy store and pick up sweats and a cute logo tee.

summer looks

personally i like a casual look in the summer.
cafe brown, hunter green, navy blue, black. just becuase its the summer it doesnt mean your entire wardrobe from last season has to be thrown away. the summer isn't all about popping colors like baby blue orange, bright green or NEONs.

my infatuation on shoes

shoes shoes shoes.
one of my many favorite things.
my guess this summer is gladiator flats will be even hotter in pumps
all three pairs were found on bloomingdales ;)
they are classy, sexy, but simple
main things i look for in any item im wearing : )
keep an eye out

leg warmers : /

leg warmers. big NO NO. i dont see one logical reason to wear legwarmers. i personally think they are ugly and tacky. there is not one right reason to wear them UNLESS you are in ballet class or doing an 80's workout.
other than that don't wear leg warmers.

wii fit :)

i think i might love this game a little more than cod5 ;).
its so fun how you get get your whole family into playing together and playing relaxed. its a fun gun with many different activities. they vary from balance games, aerobics, yoga and strength fitness. i play everyday and i try :/ to loose weight :). its working but you just have to work hard at it. it keeps your weight, wii fit age, time you exercise, balance abilitys in a little bank. to measure your progress as the days go by. this game is 90 dollars and i definatley do believe its worth it. ;)

tool academy

this is a show on VH1 about couples getting along and cheating and shit. its really funny cause the guys who go on the show are ego-maniacs and think they are on a show to be americas hottest guy. or some bullshit like that. when in reality there girlfriends are back stage. while they are admitting all there experiences cheating ( to be cool on t.v.) their girlfriends are backstage crying. it sukks but it shows you how much you think you know someone. its really interesting and pretty funny.

you should watch it next new episode is
jan 18 sunday 10:00 pm. on VH1
